Windsor Moat Gardens 2014

Over the long weekend of Friday 15 to Monday 18 August members of SE Berks District Active Support Unit were invited to join with members from Windsor and Eton District along with others to steward in the Moat Gardens at Windsor Castle.

The Moat Gardens are only open to the public during weekends in August. There is an extra charge for entry to the Gardens and the money raised is donated to various charities in and around Windsor.

It is a privilege to have been asked, once again, to steward in the Gardens and one has the opportunity to talk to many from all parts of the world.  As one is in uniform current and former members of Scouting and Guiding make a special effort to speak to you and it is interesting to hear where they come from and how they are involved or have been involved in the two organisations.

All in all a very interesting time and to be able to spend time in an area of the Windsor Castle not normally open to the public – a real privilege.
